Ralph Shearon Crews passed away in Monahans on July 27, 2021, at the age of 78, after a long illness.

Ralph was born on August 14, 1942 to James Franklin Crews and Dorothy Mae Owen in Barton AR.

The family moved to Texas when Ralph was just six months old.

Ralph served in the United States Army from 1959 - 1979 where he earned a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal with a Bronze Star, and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm.

He also served in the Honor Guard in Washington, D.C.

Upon his return to West Texas, Ralph "broke out" into the oilfield working his way up to a driller.

Ralph mentored many roughnecks up the ranks and passed the baton.

In his latter oilfield days, he went into consulting before retiring in 2012 due to his health.

Joyce and Ralph married February 18, 2000, in Rusk, and recently celebrated 21 years together.

His was a life well-lived, worked hard, and played for all the cards.

Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Frances Randolph; brother-in-laws, Jay Burleson and Joe Randolph.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Crews; daughters, Joann Larson, Cheryl Littel, Barbie Crews and Andrea Wells; son, Glenn Crews and family; sister, Hazel Burleson living with Karla and Richard Reese; grandson, Devin Little; and great-grandson, Stetson Little.
