Raymond Lloyd Lewallen, 63, unexpectedly gained his Heavenly wings on October 22, 2022, leaving behind a multitude of family members, friends, associates, and customers who will all miss him greatly.
Viewing will be held 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Harkey Funeral Home with the Family gathering from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be 3:00 PM on Friday, October 28, 2022, at First Baptist Church with Dawn Weaks officiating.
Raymond was born in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The family moved to Eunice, New Mexico, and then Odessa, Texas where Raymond graduated from Permian High School in 1977. When Raymond and Debra’s sons were young, Raymond moved his family to Andrews, Texas. After the boys were grown, Raymond and Debra relocated to Monahans, Texas.
Raymond and the love of his life, Debra, met in junior high. They dated throughout junior high and high school. They wed on February 24, 1978, and had two amazing sons. Raymond loved Debra in a tremendous and dedicated way throughout his years.
Raymond loved his family and was fiercely protective of them. He adored his two sons, five grandchildren, and his fur-babies. He was passionate about being a mechanic. Beginning at a very young age, Raymond was the “fixer of all things”.
He absolutely loved being a mechanic and was still enjoying his work at WestStar Autoplex. There are countless people who benefited from his knowledge and passion for making things work. Anyone who knew Raymond knew he was extremely intelligent. He had a photographic memory and was able to figure out anything and everything. His father used to say that Raymond had “a memory like a steel vault”. Raymond was everyone’s “go-to person” … whether it was for advice, fixing something, remembering information, or just wanting a quick answer to some random fact or a trivia question.
He also had an amazing wit and an incredibly infectious laugh. He brought joy to family, friends, and coworkers in any situation that came about. His sense of humor will definitely be missed.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph and Janell Lloyd Lewallen; in-laws, Melvin Alvis and Hazel Veneta Parker; twin great-granddaughters, Ella Grace and Faith Lewallen; sweet pup Buttercup; and brother-in-law, Raymond Leslie Parker.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debra Lewallen; son, Eric Parker Lewallen (Missy); son, Christopher Lloyd Lewallen (Robin); grandchildren, Anabelle Janell Lewallen, Parker Lee Lewallen, William Joseph Lewallen, Preston Jones Lewallen, and Hadley Grace Lewallen; pups, Daisy and Lilly; cat, Oopsie; sister, Rhonda Jo Lewallen; brother-in-law, Melvin Roy Parker; sister-in-law, Sandra Beason; and numerous family members in the Douglas, Sutton, Parker and Lewallen families.
