With deep sorrow and heartfelt memories, we announce the passing of Raymond Cabrera, Jr. (Best known as Tweedy). Born on April 8, 1963, in Muleshoe, Texas. He was a cherished son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and friend, who left us on November 9, 2024, at the age of 61. Raymond lived a life defined by love, laughter, and boundless energy, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
Raymond is survived by his mother, Teresa Cabrera; daughters, Niecole Saenz and her husband; Eron, Danielle Lee Hernandez and her husband Fabian; Breana Alanis Cabrera, and Nikki Voss; sons, Tanner Ray Cabrera, Justin Voss, and Cory Voss; sisters, Penny Price and Husband, Kenny and Shelly Flores; Nikki Voss; Annamarie Atkins; 18 grandchildren and one grand-grandchild. They will forever hold his memory close. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unforgettable stories that will continue to inspire and bring joy to those who knew him.
Raymond is preceded in death by his father, Raymond Cabrera, Sr.; Teresa Boykin and Ashley Voss; Brother-In-Law, Manny Flores; Grandparents; Popo Geroge Cabrera, Momo Maria Louisa Cabrera, Momo Adelita Castañuela, Popo Rudy Castañuela.
A true pit master, Raymond found immense joy in barbecuing and creating meals that brought family and friends together. He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Longhorns, and NASCAR, embodying a true love for all sports that he enjoyed with unwavering enthusiasm. Fishing trips and outdoor adventures were where he found peace, surrounded by nature and good company.
Raymond was a gifted storyteller who turned life’s moments into vivid tales, always filling any gathering with humor and excitement. He made the best out of any situation and carried an infectious spirit that ensured there was never a dull moment in his presence. Whether it was a simple afternoon or a large gathering, Raymond loved a house full of laughter, music, and joy.
His green thumb transformed gardens into flourishing landscapes, showcasing his knack for nurturing life. His mechanical skills and talent for carpentry were evident in his work; Raymond was a construction supervisor who could build a house from the ground up with precision and pride. He was known for his hard work, problem-solving abilities, and dedication to getting the job done right.
Above all, Raymond was a family man who cherished his role as a loving father and grandfather. He took great pride in being a big brother and uncle, always there to offer guidance, support, and a good laugh. Raymond made life brighter and was the person who would move mountains to make things happen for the people he loved.
A celebration of Raymond’s life will be held on November 18, 2024, at 3 p.m at Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, Texas, where family and friends will gather to honor his life, share memories, and carry forward the spirit of a man who made every moment count.
