Rod Lackey, 71, of Monahans, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 in Odessa, TX. He was born January 6, 1946 in San Antonio, TX to James and Dorothy Lackey. He was raised in San Antonio and Brownsville until the family moved to Ponce, Puerto Rico where he lived until he graduated. He always said he love living in Puerto Rico.
He moved to Monahans where he met Ginger Monroe they were married in Pecos on October 1974. He worked for Halliburton for 30+ years in Monahans and later in Odessa in the Nitrogen Department. He lived for his family and his kids. He loved fishing and hunting.
Rod is survived by one son, Scott Ira Lackey and wife Maxine of Helena, Mt; two daughters; Mandy Lackey and Carrie Lackey of Monahans. His mother Dorothy Lackey of Johnson City, TX; brother, Larry Lackey and wife Audrey of Monahans, TX; sisters, D'ann Elledge of Johnson City, TX and Jamie Hasrodt and husband John of Victoria, TX. Four grandchildren; Sean Ira Lackey, Noah Ira Lackey, Mac Neil Lackey and Connor Allen Lackey.
