Rosa Rios

Rosa Rios, 78, of Monahans, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at her residence. She was born December 5, 1936 in Barstow, TX to Jose Ventura and Manuela (Contreras) Gonzales.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvaro L. Rios; brother, Joe Gonzales; sisters, Guadalupe Gonzales and Gilberta Garcia; and son-in-law, Tomas Terrazas.

Rosa is survived by her sons, Mario Jose Rios and wife Virginia of Monahans, and Alvaro Rios, Jr., of Monahans; daughters, Elma Terrazas and Irma Rios, both of Monahans; sisters, Geneva Gonzales of Barstow, and Mary Stone and husband Thomas of Monahans; 6 grandchildren; and 13 grreat-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 1 - 9 PM and Thursday, October 8, 2015 from 9 AM - 9 PM at Harkey Funeral Home. The Rosary will be recited Thursday evening at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral services will be Friday, October 9, 2015 at 3 PM at St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. James Hall officiating. Interment will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery. A. J. Sanchez, Adan Sanchez, Brian Baxter, Jose Calderon, David Rodriguez, and Bradon Baxter will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Diego Rodriguez, David "Bubba" Rodriguez, Brandon Baxter, and Brendon Baxter.

Memorials may be placed with the American Cancer Society.
