Ross Irvin Gann, 83 passed away April 17, 2017 in Odessa, Texas. He was born May 1, 1933 in
Monahans, to Ross Gann and Leslie Dublin Gann. He graduated from Monahans High School in 1952 and attended Odessa College on a basketball scholarship. He then joined the US Army and received an honorable discharge. Retuming to Monahans Ross went to work for El Paso Natural Gas Company where he retired after 32 years of service.
Ross married the love of his life Sarah Lowanna Wilkin, his childhood friend Pastor Gene Tone performed the ceremony, on November 28, 1958. They were married at First Baptist Church in Monahans, where he was a lifelong member and served as a Deacon / Deacon Emeritus. In good times and bad, his faith never wavered.
He served on the MWPISD School Board, he was a member of the Lions Club, and an avid fan of his hometown Loboes and loved golfing. He enjoyed making people laugh at his jokes and handing out his Ross Gann Lobo Hats and pens to everyone he met.
Ross was preceded in death by his parents, brother Charlie Gann, sister Charlene Gann Rogers, and brother in law Raymond Wilkin, and nephew John Wilkin.
He is survived by his loving wife Sarah, one sister in law Vicki Wilkin of Ft. Worth, and brother in law
Benny Rogers of San Angelo, son Douglas Gann of Cheyenne Wy., daughter Leisa Phipps and husband
Calvin of Monahans, 6 grandchildren, Jenna Ramirez and husband Armando, Laura Phipps, Ross Phipps, Hannah Hawthorne, Aaron Gann and Alyssa Gann, Cousins Lee Gann and wife Renee of Kingsland, Betty Dorminey and husband Chuck of Denver City, many nieces, nephews and countless friends.
