Ruben G. Salcido Sr. 75 passed away peacefully at Baylor Scott and White All Saints Medical Center in Ft. Worth, Texas on Thursday, July 18, 2019. He was born on August 6, 1943 in Ft. Davis, Texas to Grabiel & Carmel Salcido, who proceeded him in death. He married Teresa R. Salcido in Ft. Davis, Texas in 1964. Ruben & Teresa Salcido had 4 children. Daughter Sandra Salcido Venzor, who proceeded him in death, Son Ruben R. Salcido Jr. & wife Candie Salcido of Balmorhea, Tx., George Salcido of Monahans, Tx., Daughter Carmen Salcido of Monahans, Tx, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Survived by Sisters Olivia Salgado of Roswell, NM. Ramona Seymour of Lake Worth, Tx. Joann Sanchez & husband Edward of Monahans, Tx. Brothers Ismael Salcido & wife Josie of Monahans, Jimmy Salcido & wife Pam of Ft. Davis. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Proceeded in death by Sisters Belia Garcia, Dora Rincon and Senida Avila, Brother Grabiel Salcido Jr.

Ruben grew up in Ft. Davis, Texas. Where he worked at various ranches as a ranch hand. In 1973 he moved to Monahans, Texas with his family where he began to work for Ward County Pct. 3 for 35 years. He then later retired in 2008. He was a hard working man and will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday, July 20, 2019, 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Harkey Funeral Home. Rosary 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 21, 2019 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 22, 2019 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Alan Alaka officiating, burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
