Santa Maldonado

Santa V. Maldonado passed away on January 7, 2021, at her home in Monahans, TX. Santa was born on November 1, 1928, in Sanderson, TX to Felicito and San Juana Valles. After growing up in Langtry, TX, Santa married Valentin A. Maldonado on October 24, 1949, in Midland, TX. She lived in Sanderson for several years before residing in Monahans until her death.

Santa worked at Best Western for twenty years before her retirement. She was a member of St. John Catholic Church where she was also a member of The Sacred Heart Society. After her retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Santa was preceded in death by her husband Valentin A. Maldonado, parents, Felicito and San Juana Valles; stepfather, Jesus Borrego; brothers, Pablo Valles and Felix Valles; sisters, Juani Villarreal and Amalia Escamilla; granddaughter, Myra Lynn Maldonado; great-great-grandson, Xavier Valentin Maldonado.

Santa is survived by her son, Robert V. Maldonado and wife Elma; daughter, Gloria Leticia Maldonado; brother, Joe Borrego and wife Fidela; sisters, Mabel Rubalcava, Amelia Escamilla and husband Press; grandchildren, Kim Maldonado, Eric Salazar and wife Rachael, and Robbie Maldonado; great-grandchildren, Jacob Maldonado, Myra Maldonado, Joey Maldonado, Aiden Cannon, and Claire Salazar; great-great-grandchildren Myra Maldonado, Marlii Rodriguez, Ma'Kai McNary, and Ma'Kari McNary. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Harkey Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 11, 2021 at St. John Catholic Church with the funeral mass following at 2:00 p.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Monahans with Fr. Allan Alaka officiating. Burial will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Pablo Valles, David Valles, Eric Salazar, Robbie Maldonado, Jacob Maldonado, and Joey Maldonado.
