Sarah Clair Bryan Burke, beloved wife, mother, and Nana went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the age of 90. Clair was born in Riddleville, Georgia on September 10, 1933, to Thomas and Mildred Bryan, and lived a full and happy life. Throughout her life, Clair had a passion for cooking, baking, cross-stitching, crocheting, crafting, fishing, and her family. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Monahans.
Clair was married to William Henry Burke, Jr. for an impressive 70 years. Together they raised 2 children, Sherrie and Terrie, and built a loving and supportive family. Clair was blessed with 5 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great- grandchild.
In 1969, Bill and Clair brought their family from Macon, Georgia to Monahans, Tx. They remained Monahans residents until they moved to Lubbock, Tx in July 2022.
Those left to cherish her memories include daughter, Terrie Lindley of Lubbock, Tx; her son in law, Lowell McDaniel of Monahans, Tx; her sister, Patsy Bridges (Bobby) of Riddleville Ga.; her grandchildren, Brandee McDaniel (Sha Barnes) of Monahans, Tx, Bryan (Mandy) McDaniel of Melissa, Tx, Jason Lindley of Ropesville, Tx, Cody Lindley of Dallas, Tx and Sarah Hester of Lubbock, Tx; great grandchildren, Allyson McDaniel (Daniel Cervantes) of Shawnee, Ok, Laykin and Blayne McDaniel, Kylor and Hudson Hester, Ethan, Cameron, Owen and Hayden Lindley; great great grandchild, Luke Cervantes.
Waiting at the gates of Heaven were her parents; her husband, William H. Burke, Jr; her sisters, Faye Goodman and Joyce Teague; her brother, Bennie Pete Bryan; her daughter, Sherrie McDaniel and son in law, Robert Lindley.
A visitation will be held at Harkey Funeral Home, Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM. Funeral Service will be held at First Baptist Church Monahans on Monday, November 6, 2023, with Pastor Chris Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
