Steve Engleman, 67, passed away on Thursday, January 5th, 2023.
He was born on November 2, 1955 in Evansville, Indiana to Thomas and Charlene Engleman. He grew up in Chandler, Indiana meeting his high school sweetheart, Kala, at Castle High school during their Freshman year. Steve and Kala married in 1974, and moved to Texas after their first son, Aaron was born. In 1981 Kala gave birth to a daughter, Shannon. Steve worked for Halliburton for over 40 years. He was a member of the Purple Haze Jeep club. He went on several jeep adventures, taking trails to places like Moab, Utah and Terlingua, Texas. He also enjoyed being a chili judge, during his annual trips to Terlingua. For several years, Steve was also a member of the Blastards crew, which rigged the pyro-technics for the local Airshow. He enjoyed taking his wife and meeting with several friends to watch Summer Mummers, and The Maverick Players, on many occasions. He spent his spare time watching old westerns, doing his crossword puzzles, and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Kala; son and daughter-in-law Aaron Engleman and Terri-Ann; daughter and son-in-law Shannon Westfall and Cris; mother Charlene Engleman; sister Karen Mann and husband Duane; sister Sarah Reed; sister Marti Lancaster and husband Tim; brother Mike Engleman and wife Cindy; brother Pat Engleman and wife Michelle; brother Eric Engleman and wife Kim; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Sunday,January 9th from 4:00 PM -7:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home in Odessa, Texas. A graveside service will be organized by Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, TX on Monday, January 9th at 2:00 PM.
