Vikki Barnes

On Thursday, April 25th, 2019, Vikki Dawn Barnes joined our Heavenly Father at the tender age of 35. For all of those who knew and loved Vikki, understood how hard and tirelessly she fought to stay with us through her battle. Vikki was born in Odessa, Texas at Odessa Regional Hospital on May 12, 1983. She is a current resident of Monahans, Texas where she graduated from High School and lived with her parents, Lorrie and John Andrews, and daughter, Ava MaKayla Barnes.
Vikki touched many lives through her unstinting efforts to educate others about the importance of health and nutrition and the impact it has on all of our lives. Vikki not only preached her beliefs but lived to exemplify her teachings in every facet of her life. If you had the opportunity to visit Vikki over the last few years, you were blessed to be immersed in her infinite knowledge of the nutritional world and its often-complex components. You left with a resolution to reclaim your own strength and willpower.
Vikki will continue to live in the hearts of her loving parents, family and friends but most importantly, through the thoughts, actions, and dreams of her daughter Ava. Their faith in God is surpassed by none and this resolve remains steady and unquestioned through this difficult time.
In the words of Vikki herself, "Remember no matter how many doubts you have, how many times you fail or fall astray, He will never leave you nor forsake you and He will be with you in the middle of ANY and ALL storms, no matter how you feel at the time, remember the truth, ALWAYS. We are blessed by His grace, mercy, healing, providing and above all else, LOVE!"
Vikki is remembered by her Grandmother, Audrey Lackey of Monahans, and preceded by her Grandfather, Larry Lackey and Grandparents, Bill and Dorothy Andrews.
The visitation for Vikki will be held on Sunday, April 28th from 2-6 pm at Harkey Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 29th at the Ward County Event Center followed by a graveside ceremony.
