Wanda Jo Brown, 80, passed away on November 23, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted mother, sister, cousin and friend to many. Wanda was born on March 31, 1943 to Era Mae Washington and Joe Blake in Monahans, Tx. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes, dancing and spending time with family and friends. She has been a member of Shiloh Baptist church for many years. She attended school in Monahans and worked for the City of Monahans water department for many years before taking a job at Ward Memorial Hospital and eventually retiring there. She was preceded in death by her parents, Era Mae Washington and Joe Blake. Wanda leaves behind to cherish her memory sisters, Sharon Mingo of Monahans, Tx., Valerie Harrison of San Diego, California, Ella Hamilton of Jacksonville, Florida; 5 children, son Paul Blake, daughter Damita Allen, daughter Mae Williams, daughter Cynthia Washington, son Patrick Willis; 12 grandchildren, Amber Rose, Paul Blake Jr, Charles Blake, Terrance Washington, Kalie Hall, Shaquille Smith, Quincy Titus, Summer Smith, DeAndre Blake, Lyric Willis, Alexis Blake, Essence Willis; 15 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. The celebration of her life will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church at 11:00 a.a.m.m on Saturday December 2, 2023 with R.C. Alexander officiating. A burial will follow at the Monahans Cemetery.
