Wanda Chatham Phipps, 83, of Monahans, passed away Friday, October 16, 2015 at her residence. She was born October 29, 1931 in Oklahoma City, OK to Thomas Charles and Gladys Ailene (Hutchison) Chatham.
She married Dean Phipps on December 10, 1954. Throughout the years, she worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator, at Sid Richardson, and Perry R. Bass.
She enjoyed bowling, cooking, going to the farm and lake, crossword puzzles, taking care of her kids, and spending time with her grandkids and later, her great-grandkids.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Chatham and Gladys Wood.
Wanda is survived by her husband of 60 years, Dean Phipps of Monahans; sons, Floyd Dean Phipps of Monahans and Steven Wayne Phipps of Fort Stockton; daughter, Pamela Ailene Phipps of Monahans; 2 grandchildren, Leia Dewell and Adriana Aguirre; and 5 great-grandchildren, Jack, Maggie, and Ivy Dewell and Victoria and Larissa Aguirre.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at 2 PM at Harkey Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Porterfield officiating. Interment will follow at Monahans Memorial Cemetery.
