William Edward Clayton Jr. went home to be with our lord and savior on October 31, 2020 at 9:20 AM.
“Eddie” was born on March 4, 19450 to Polly Sue and William Edward Clayton in Lovington, New Mexico. He moved to Monahans shortly before enlisting in the United States Army. He served his country proudly in a logistics role during the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver, delivering fuel and moving troops in and out of harms way along with civilian support.
After being honorary discharged from the Army Eddie made his home in Monahans, going to work in the Oilfield as a truck driver. He met his future wife Connie and they began building a life together. He left the oilfield for a job that would allow him to be home more and went to work for Allsups in a managerial position. He would eventually retire from Allsups as the area supervisor over several store from Monahans to Hobbs, New Mexico.
In retirement, Eddie enjoyed his grandchildren’s company, his dogs, Rex and Tasha, and of course WWE Wrestling, along with any good military documentary.
